I know what you mean...i don't see ancestors running but sometimes out of the corner of my eye i'll see someone walk departed my window and i'll dawdle for that person to knock on the door but it never happen. you're fine, it's just your mind playing tricks on you.

Ans: This is call as Illusions ( or Hallucinations ), depending on the details.
If there is something else but you misperceive or misinterpret it, and have a feeling afraid, it is an Illusion.
And if there is Nothing but still you see Something, it is a Hallucination.
If here is a rope in the corner of a room and you see it as a Snake, is is an Illusion.
But if near is Nothing and you start seeing a Snake there, it is call Hallucination.
