Mental Questions and Answers
Auto-suggestion what is it how does it work?
Answers: through subliminal messages i think!
it may go on either history that you have typed, or suggested spellings depending on what application you are using...
So say you started typing CO.. it may finish the word with a W to make the word COW. I dont like auto suggestion, It takes up too much time
Are you thinking of auto-suggestion as in hypnotherapy/advertising? if so it works through the sub-conscious mind. I wont go into it any deeper because this may not be what you are asking about.
Do you think the DOJ rules on script drugs is helping or hurting people with mental illness?
because many people with depression et try to self medicate with alcohol or illegal substances. Wouldnt an online survey exam that was confidential actually help those people? Why or why not? This is NOT a question of talk therapy...that is excluded and a seperate issue.

Answers: I think it's hurting some people. A LOT of mentally ill people cannot afford a dr at all (and don't assume the state helps with that- because that is a joke and a myth), so they need help for their illness. If I couldn't get my meds I would be non-functional and homeless. There is no one to look after me but me, and what I do to my body or what chances I take with medication is my business.
The bad thing about online survey exams is the fact that people are likely to be even more deceptive to get what they want or do even more self-diagnosing or self-medicating. Many of those "online pharmacies" are covers for scam artists operating in Asia or Europe. You fill out the form, they approve your purchase (as long as your credit card is valid) and they send you pills that aren't really medication at all...they're concrete and cardboard, painted with lead paint and contain other questionable ingredients. Folks take this possibly toxic pill and don't know why they feel worse.
With some of those prescriptions drugs there are risks of injury to your liver or kidneys. Keeping in contact with a live doctor to monitor any physical or mental changes in health is paramount.
I can also see where there would be positive aspects of an online survey exam. I was seeing a psychiatrist for acute anxiety. He put me on Lexapro daily (even though my anxiety wasn't chronic). I had to deal with Lexapro addiction and finally worked myself off of it. Some docs are prone to over-medicating people because the pharmaceutical reps are wining and dining them. Sell more drugs, get more kickbacks.
How come its so f***ing hard to get to level 3?
Seriously I'm still level 2, WTF!! I want to be level 3!!Answers: you think level three is hard to get to? wait until you try to get onto level 4 ! Answer more questions then ask... you will be there in no time.
This is only the beginning.
At each level we think it is hard.
Getting to level 5 is a killer. Just Wait!

Alcohol advertising! Is it time to stop it?
We are in a day and age of society where alcohol is known as a drug that can be worse than heroin or cocaine. Yet it is legal. I think as society we have to find ways to do without it. Cigarette tv commercials were done in the late 70s or early 80s and even in print they became illegal. What is your opinion on alcohol? It is a huge multi billion dollar business and i feel as society we have to make strides to end the usage of alcohol. If i never drank when i was in my late teens i wouldn't have got as sick. Too many people are killed by drunk drivers and everyone i know who drinks a lot have problems in their lifes. What is your opinion on this issue. I think he we need to stop it.Answers: yeah alcohol is just as damaging as herion ,crack , it destroys millions of lives daily but if you take into consideration the amount of money the government and alcohol companies make ,you will find that there is no way that they will turn their back on the revenue it raises for them ,
its called greed ..its the root of all evil
yeah
those ads will bring virus to the computer
I also think we should outlaw dairy because of the cholesterol issues...people just don't know whats good for them and left to their own options would make the wrong choices. While we are at it, I think we need to decide how many hours they should sleep and what time is best for them. If they don't follow our guidelines we should lock them up and throw away the keys.
*this ad sponsored by lilbitbeechy...here to tell you what to do and how to do it!!*
taking over the world one right after the other...u will be controlled!
Hope u found the humour in my response!

If MDMA is legalised would people be happier?
When I say MDMA I mean the shortened medical name for the illegal drug known as ecstasy. I am curious as I have been thinking how the world may have turned out in the last 200 years if the only legal drugs were not alcohol and tobacco. Alcohol being a depressant that is currently most widely used for so called socialising although it seems to do more to keep people anti-socialising.Where as, when MDMA is pure and of pharmaceutical quality, is a stimulant that often brings people together to enjoy themselves who may never have talked under the influence of alcohol.
So many people are on SSRI anti depressants, but if we were allowed legally to enjoy ourselves on MDMA every now and again maybe the need for these SSRI drugs would decrease. We would be able to let go for 1 night rather than staying on a drug that can't be any less dangerous than MDMA for years.
I am aware that anti depressants have been tested more than MDMA and that they are not the same.
Answers: If used correctly and in moderation it think clean cut ecstasy would be a great alternative to alcohol. The love , compassion , and euphoria you obtain through this drug is unexplainable. Using it every weekend like the user stated above is dangerous and shouldn't be used as a reasonable answer. He abused the drug and even with abuse of alcohol it can lead to worse consequences. So my answer yes MDMA is a safe drug if used in small moderation and not abused but with the euphoria included and if it was legalized i would see a problem with people becoming addicted to the feeling itself.
Some people would be happier, but since such a temporary high that can cause trauma, it would be a very small amount of people. Some people would replace natural happiness with drugs, causing a feedback loop where they were only happy when high regardless of stimuli
Just FYI: they began to outlaw certain drugs around 100 years ago.
MDMA Actually damages brain serotonin neurons. It also has some nasty psychological effects too such as. confusion, depression, sleep problems, anxiety, and paranoia during, and sometimes weeks after, taking the drug.
Physical effects can include muscle tension, involuntary teeth-clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating. Increases in heart rate and blood pressure are a special risk for people with circulatory or heart disease.
So in theory it's a good idea but not in practise because it can actually make you more depressed.
I can't say I know because I have never taken it personally. But I have seen the behaviours of those who have, and it HAS killed people has it not?
I think the problem is, any of these drugs are like sticking plasters on gaping wounds. It doesn't solve the problem really does it? If you are that unhappy with yourself, with your life that you NEED to take recreational drugs, alcohol or even prescription "legal" drugs you do so for a reason...
Taking medication isn't solving the root cause because its not helping anyone address the under laying issue. I hope that in this day and age, GPs and Psychiatrist no longer dish out pills willy nilly and people get the therapy and support to address the CAUSE.
It seems to me that the root cause of much misery, despair and unhappiness are things like lack of self esteem, high expectation about how one "should" feel, look, be. Lack of meaning and purpose in life, possibly due to the lack of religion in society these days. lack of identity. High unemployment or long hours for rubbish pay; poverty the contrast between the "have's" and the "have not's". Poor physical health and housing, lack of equality and justice. Many people feel disempowered and there seems to be a complete lack of "neighbourliness" these days.
When you come down from the drug what ever it was that drove you to take them is still there and still have to be dealt with. It would be far more proficient to teach people how to have self esteem, along with developing coping skills and an ability to ask for help when you need it instead of trying to muddle along when out of your depth.
I dont think its the way to go to be honest.
Why do we need chemicals to be happy?
What are Community Mental Health Teams called in America?
I assumed they were called the same as we call them in Britain, but I have googled Community Mental Health teams in a particle district of American but nothing came up. I'm therefore wondering if perhaps they go under another name. If so, could some kind person please tell me what the correct term for them is and are they state funded, self funded or both. Also, how would someone get involved with them, ie referal throught being admited to hospital - thank you very much!Answers: The one that comes to mind is PACT or ACT -
Program for Assertive Community Treatment
or
Assertive Community Treatment.
Some localities that are rural do not have PACT or ACT, but have a variation called ICT (Intensive Community Treatment).
These teams in America are normally mobile and provide intensive services to those with serious mental illness. You'd need to be screened for appropriateness to a program like that and have a well-documented history of serious mental illness.
If you were hospitalized here, the hospital treatment team most likely would make a referral to the agency that runs the PACT. Usually the agencies the hospital refers to are public mental health clinics. It would be up to the clinic to refer you to the most appropriate service within the agency, and not all have PACT.
Hope that helps!
mental health clinic, counseling, social services
They are state funded and self funded. Depending on the situation there are crisis centers as well. First appointments sometimes take a while to be scheduled.
Need help acting my age?
I'm a 21 years old female and I often feel like I act like I'm 3 years old. I whine, sometimes cry and throw temper tantrums. I talk like a 3 year old sometimes - mostly around my boyfriend. I'm very dependant. I'm very silly, just over all I feel like I'm a very young child inside. Can anyone relate, or does anyone have any suggestions, or know what this is called?Answers: I think its fine.. Your a lovley young women. Thats all it is. u only show how u feel around the ones u love.. or let loose. thats all. u act your age around others.
While I do not know what this is called, other than immaturity, I do have a few suggestions.
When I began my therapy with a Psychologist, I was tested thoroughly. Testing revealed how I deal or relate to others in relationships, strangers, and how I view myself. I, too had some dependent traits, though different from yours. Over the next 2 years I worked twice a month with my therapist, on moving on and becoming more independent thinking and acting and responding. I learned and practiced new coping skills - the ones I was missing. The morphing was gradual, but steady. Today I have found my own adult voice, and people are relating to me differently and respectfully as an a competent adult.
From my story maybe you can glean the possibilities of growth for yourself, and take action at being professionally coached through consistant therapy sessions.
How can I check if I have ADHD?
I'm a busy college student that has a hard time concentrating in class and focusing on homework and study time. What can the doctors do for me? What should I say to him?Answers: Go to your school's disabled students services center. They will have all the info and referrals you need.
Best of luck!
Too much on your mind?
Anxiety can also produce the same effects.
Explain what is going on in your life as well as what you are experiencing in class.

I HAVE 2 SONS DIAGNOSED W/ADHD. THEY WERE DIAGNOSED THROUGH A PSYCOLOGIST. DR'S CAN PUT YOU ON MEDS. BUT WITH OUT A PROPER DIAGNOSIS, BY A PSYCOLOGIST OR SOMEONE WHO SPECIALIZES IN THAT FEILD, SOMETIMES IT'S JUST NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR A REG. DR. TO PERSCRIBE ANYTHING. AND JUST ASK HIM TO REFERR YOU TO SOMEONE. IF HE OR SHE DOESN'T KNOW, CALL THE MED. ***.
How do you get over an unexpected loss?
my brother died two years ago in a motor cycle accident strange circumstances no answers just lots of questions no amount of therapy can get me past the anger and sadness I miss him so much sometimes the whys get overwhelming and i feel alone has anyone a good answer maybe something worked for someone need adviceAnswers: Grief is often a long and difficult journey. Something that may help you is to know that your brother is safe and happy on "the other side", and that he watches you all the time. Sometimes if you're quiet, you will feel his presence around you. And if you're open to it, he may even leave clues that he's with you. Watch for signs that you and he know the meaning of, like smelling his cologne, or something happening that seems like a coincidence (I don't believe in coincidences). Talk to him and ask him for a sign that he's okay. He will hear you. The signs are often quite subtle and you must stay open to believing he is near you. He has just lost his physical body, but he still exists, and can help you heal.
This happened to me to
Just think there will be someone always watching over you
They are still there with you just they body isnt needed anymore
Sorry
Grief is a long process.
At some point you need to accept that you cannot change what is past. You cannot change history.
I am sure your brother would expect you to go on.
Be grateful for having been in his life and having him in your life.

I'm very sorry about your brother. Please accept my sincere condolences.
There is a grieving process people seem to go through, and there are stages of grief:
http://www.hns.org/Portals/1/Stages%20of...
Different people may go through different stages at different times, but the important thing is that they all lead to resolution and readjustment. This is the healing stage.
If you've found yourself stuck in one of the stages, you might want to check out grief counseling.
Here's a good website on the grieving process:
http://www.hns.org/CenterforGriefHealing...
Take care.
I'm sorry for your loss.
There is something effective you can do about it. My firend's father died and her mother got a Diainetics session to help her and she got relief from the grief and loss. Dianetics handles physically painful or emotionally painful incidents and is very effective. There are specific techniques used and the auditor (counselor who applies the techniques) asks the questions and listens to the person and doesn't tell them what to think. You can find someone in your local area who is skilled in Dianetics. Check out the website www.dianetics.org. You can get more info and also there is probably a phone number to find someone in your area. There was a contact card in the book I bought.
Take care and I hope you feel better soon.
What do u think about this medicine?
Hi, my son is 2 1/2 years old. He has autism. He is not sleeping at night and his neurologist (sp?) has put him on two diff kinds of medicine now. The first medicine was clonidine but that gave my son nightmeres so we took him off of it. Now he is on 0.5 ml of risperdal each night. This medicine helps him fall asleep but does not keep him asleep, the only problem is it is causing my son to have more behavior problems as well as muscel (sp?) spaziums (sp?) Do you know if there is a safer drug to help my son sleep at night? I know how important it is to sleep at night but I dont want to have all these side effects. thank you for your time and opinions.Answers: risperdal is an anti psychotic drug used to treat schizophrenia... they have severe short term and long term affects on the body...
here's a few:
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) is a rare and potentially fatal side effect reported with RISPERDAL and similar medicines.
Tardive Dyskinesia (TD)
elevated prolactin levels... NOT GOOD
elevated blood glucose levels and diabetes have been reported with the use of this med.
and many other side effects...
lastly... keep in the mind.. that at the bottom of the bottle... it says keep away from children... those words could never be more true.
Look into alternative meds. I don't know if there are "safer" drugs for a child that young, but there are tons of therapies one can do to help with autism. (Unless if it is so severe that he needs them to just function "normal".) But I've seen many documentaries and read lots of stuff about diet as well.
There is so much I need to do and take care of, yet I don't feel like doing anything. What am I going through?
There is this huge resistance in me. I feel passionless, dissatisfied, anxious, and I feel all of this .. like running errands, cooking, studies, career etc is pointless. I have also been undergoing a constant heartbreak since last 2 years. If there is one thing that will give me happiness, it'll be to be with him. I am just tired of longing. I can't seem to get out of this, although there are few days I feel more driven towards the duties and tasks of life. But most of the time, I feel, all this is pointless. I have goals and interests but it is true that I do feel like not living anymore. A big part of me has lost hope of any personal life for me. I know, it is either him, or nobody.Answers: If focusing on what you are saying makes me feel sad, what is it doing to you?
You are not going to be able to change anything about your past.
Look around you right now.
What ever you are doing and seeing is where your life is happening.
You live life in the here and now.
And you plan for the future.
The past is just history.
Looking back on today five or ten years from now what do you want to have accomplished?

I THINK YOU MAY BE DEPRESSED, YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR DR. YOU MAY ALSO GO ONLINE TO HEALTH, AND LOOK UP DEPRESSION AND SEE SYMPTOMS, BUT MY ANSWER IS DEPRESSION, AND POSSIBLY CO-DEPENDENCY.
