How can i can tell manage stress?
Answers: See stress treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 42.
Get a hobby. Go hiking. Do what you like to do with your life.
Work on weekdays, enjoy on weekends.
Is it wrong to constantly talk to yourself?
I do that alot exp at work. Is it a bad thing?Answers: Not necessarily. Are you a perfectionist? Do you worry too much about getting things right? Perhaps a bit of a loner?
Sometimes you are your own bestfriend or worst enemy. It seems pretty natural to me.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Seriously?? I hope not, I talk to myself all the time, and the bad part is I answer back!! LOL
I don't think it is a 'bad' thing..It could even actually be therapeutic to talk things over with yourself! When i would catch my Mom talking to herself she would always tell me she did it because no one else ever paid attention to what she says, so never knows what she's talking about!
SURE, IT'S OKAY TO TALK TO YOURSELF. AND IT IS OKAY TO ANSWER YOURSELF TOO. BUT WHAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO IS CONFUSE YOURSELF SO YOU ANSWER "HUH?".
No, I do it all the time. Including as of right now.
Just wait till you are over 50. you'll not only TALK to yourself, sing to yourself, LAUGH at yourself, but you will answer yourself back, critique your own singing --even when no one else is around and totally forget where you put the last thing you had in your hands or even WHAT IT WAS!!
I think as long as you do not talk to yourself in public it is OK.
Worrying about talking to yourself can be a problem in itself.
I don't think it is a good idea to move your mouth when you are thinking. It seems the same as talking to yourself. It probably is not good to whisper to yourself in public either.
If this is happening, just do not let your mouth move.
Bite your tongue or chew gum.
Is it me or does it feel like the need to pop pills to feel good is alot lilke taking illegal drugs?
This is not a shot ,but what is wrong with being depressed. Alot of people seem to have the idea i'm alittle depressed and stress take some pills to solve the problem. Even if your extremely depressed why don't they try to find ways for people to express , examine and deal with their issues instead of poping pills. Their can be beauty in sadness too. It's just an emotion like any other. It's just seems like where almost being taught to fear it instead of trying to explore and come to deal with them. Any thoughts. To me it seems like the same reason to some degree why people smoke dope to any other hard drug to feel good and escape their problem. I'm not trying to be little people's issues I've just notice one person says their depressed . You'll end up getting alot of people saying take a pill to help.Answers: Amen.
So? You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Why do people use alcohol? Why have sex when you don't want a baby? Why go to the movies? Why celebrate thanks giving or X-mas? You want to throw those into your little story as well?
People want to feel good. One solution is more accepted than the other. I take those pills but they do not make me happy. They allow me to. go to the movies, celebrate thanksgiving and X-mas.
Hope that makes it clear. Pills don't fix problems, they help you to be able to fix them.
There's an entire profession out there to help people and many times taking a pill is needed if the depression or sadness is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain.
Sure theres beauty in sadness in art or movies maybe, but happiness is a choice we all have to make.
Your question cannot be answered in depth here, there are too many variables or options as to the "why".
Also, everyone is different, tackles life in different ways, has different levels of coping skills and simply some may not have the inner strength to handle life without some form of chemical dependency, whether they be illegal or legal.
Escapism, ever hear of it? Denial? Negativity? All of these factor in to the reason some people take pills. Depression is a very real problem that is treated with pills and therapy. No one can make broad blanket statements regarding Depression nor should anyone judge those who choose to treat something by popping a pill.. If it works or helps them, how can anyone judge them for being pro-active with their mental health?
Are you depressed?
Answers: nope : ] dont think so. : ] : ] : ]
I was about 5 weeks ago =S
But im not really any more
SORRY, PLEASE GET BETTER SOON TO WHOEVER IS!
I am not presently feeling sad.
I do suffer from depression though, and take medication for it.
I'm working hard to make my life better
Bobby- I wish it were that easy- I'm allergic to bananas & fish products
I read a great quote the other day..."depression is anger without the enthusiasm". So, no i am not.
When you see people or parents aging, does it makes you cry?
Answers: Not really. But i hate the fact that i'm gonna be old one day. I wanna be able to stay young!
Sorry, but this just made me think of this song.
Forever young, by Alphaville
Lets dance in style, lets dance for a while
Heaven can wait were only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We dont have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The musics for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders were getting in tune
The musics played by the madmen
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why dont they stay young
Its so hard to get old without a cause
I dont want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And dimonds are forever
So many adventures couldnt happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true
ha yeah i just thought of that song when i read this.
Not because of just aging - aging can happen also nicely, in health and dignity. It's more like getting chills in a good way, or a feeling of teary awe, in a moment of empathy, realizing what TIME really means - all those years, all that experience, all those emotions that long decades of LIFE can offer to an individual. The cry-feeling is just about this breathtaking glimpse of momentary enlightenment, to feel the natural and inevitable turning of the wheel of life, all encoded in one, kind, wrinkly, elderly face.
Can't cope?
does anyone have any suggestions to help with my situation?I'm normally a fairly positive person but now I have one week until exams and im not dealing with it well. its not the exams so much, but it seems in the one week left of school every subjects is throwing tests and assignments at me.
I know it probably sounds petty to those who've been through it already but I just feel like I need to scream, but there's no where that i can even make a sound. can't tell my family because we're a bit old fashioned when it comes to problems (ie. keep quiet and they'll go away) and my friends aren't really ones for talking seriously.
a little lonely and lost i guess
Answers: Like you say, we've all been through it, and it was stressful for all of us.
And we all got through it.
That is the key thing to remember.
You aren't doing this alone.
You are doing along side of thousands of others who have done it.
You know that you are smarter than 10,000 of those people!
Get your confidence up, and smoke the other 9999!
It it is intelligence as much as drive.
But you have to have intelligence to know that.
just tackle them one at a time.
maybe you left the studying and exams to late that is why you are feeling so much stress.
for future refference do you assignments in advance and studying more aswell
all you can do now is do the best you can by putting alot of effort into these assignments and study time to pull it off.
if it means working on them later than usual then you are going to have to do it to get it all done.
once you have something finished and handed in you will feel alot better.
good luck xx
loopy
Time is precious, it is really critical in this moment. so from now , fully concentate on your revision. make a time table for you, what subjects you need to revise first or later, the time table is for you to follow, organsise yourself now. remember to have a short break in between.

Has anyone sought help dealing with anger issues?
I am a pretty laid back person but lack patience, always have, since I was a child. It's getting worse. I don't hit anyone or throw things but I get nasty when I'm pissed off and scream at whomever has just rubbed me the wrong way. I know it is unhealthy, specifically because the things that irritate me and cause me to fly off the handle are usually really stupid. I fear I am yelling at my son way too much (sometimes it's with good cause, mostly because I can't contain my anger). My husband says he fears for "anyone on the receiving end" of me because I can be so intimidating. Has anyone had this problem? What kind of doctor or therapist is recommended for this sort of thing? I have no problems functioning anywhere in my life - I volunteer at my son's school, keep a clean house, cook, have friends, hobbies - what's my problem?! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.Answers: I get really angry/shaky/out of breath over stupid things as well and they bother me for so long... I think, judging by your busy lifestyle it sounds like you have, maybe you need time for yourself? Try setting aside time JUST for you ALONE where you can sit in a room and listen to your favorite kind of music and just daydream. I know it sounds corny but that helps me.
Try to slow down and reason your response to people all the time. It sounds like you know whats wrong, but you just lash out so abruptly. Perhaps if you made a conscious effort to give your initial response a second thought before letting rip, you might be able to contain this on your own without anyone messing with your head. You do sound rational.
I like the advice jamievoetsch gave you as well.

Obsession or compulsive behaviour to answer or ask.?
this A&Q is becoming an obsession, is any one else in the same boat as me . thats me introveneITS BECOMING A DISEASE
Answers: You are very correct on this. This has become my outlet... I am getting so depressed on everything that's going on in my life right now... that it has become a "good feel" reading and answering here in Yahoo. I guess this is better than getting addicted to the real drugs and booze, right? But don't let yourself be obsessed by this, okay?? Bye and good night.
I have only just started on here, should I stop while I still can??
HA!
Well most of us feel good about helping others. It's also really interesting to see what others are saying/doing/asking. You can learn SO much here. Just take a break from it, or maybe allow yourself only a half an hour on here or something like that.
i just started yesterday, never knew it existed! my husband is already rolling his eyes at me. you r right tho, its getting addictive for sure.. and i too enjoy helping out if i can.
Somethings wrong with me?
i feel really down and depressed. Just a little while ago i was talking to my sister and i was like "i don't know why but i feel so down" and then seconds later i started crying. so i just went to the bath room because i couldn't stop myself. I don't even know why i was crying.and i'm crying now too and i can't stop. I mean theres stuff going on but still i don't think i should be this emotional. I know it something anyone can really help me with but i thought i' just see what every1 though about my episode.thanks for reading.
Answers: Misery,
I know just how you feel. I went through this once -I would even wake up crying!
Counseling is important. It helps you dig up what is bothering you, and help you figure out how to solve it. You will feel better, even with the first visit, because you know you are doing something about it. Just talking to someone who understands will help, too.
Don't worry if you cry because that lets your feelings out so you can lessen the pressure of them inside. It's good for you. You don't need to hide from you sister, either. She loves you and will help you deal with what's bothering you. You would do the same thing for her, too, wouldn't you?
To review: seek counseling, don't worry, share your feelings, and know that you will soon feel better.
It could be that your depressed, that word is often used loosely, How long has this being going on?
Do you feel happiness still?
Sometimes people have breakdowns for no apparent reason. I'm sure the feelings will pass and everything will be back to normal. =) I hope you feel better.
If these persist, then please see a doctor. You might have depression.
Maybe life is not what you want it to be.
I get this way as well, but don't weep out loud.
The only advice I will give is try to stay of antidepressant drugs, but if you have to take them do so only for short periods.
Instead try to get Counseling, talk to a professional or someone trained in listening to you.
Best wishes.
You sound very normal to me.
Someone made a song on the charts in Australia.
"Why do I feel so bad".
sounds like you have a minor depression.
just forget it...if you went to a shrink they will charge you forever and give you horrible pills.
these things happens to all of us...
think of everything you have accomplished even if it was small...then you will get the courage to continue and do things better...
maybe from time to time we set and remember bad stuff...but for sure we are better than others who suffer to get a crumb of bread or a bite of food...or a home to hide from cold weather or peace to live freely
Has this crying upsetness been going on for longer than two weeks solid. Do you find it hard to sleep. Is your sleep bad. Are you eating too much or not at all.
These are some of the signs of depression. If you are concerned go see your doctor. Try and find out why this is happening. Is there a trigger. If so try to find ways of avoiding the driggers
All in all go see a doctor. especcially if it has been constant for over two weeks.
Everyone feel down from time to time. Very often it can be because we feel we don't have control over our lives or because we don't live the life we are designed to live. It can even be that you eat or drink too much junk - too much sugar can make you really, really low.
I really think I have ADD, would like answers?
I'm almost positive I have ADD or something like it,i know something is wrong with me and i think anyone with ADD could tell u the same, i know im not like other ppl, i took these test online and they all pointed too ADD, and theres different types of ADD and these test said I likely have "ring of fire" , Temporal, or limbic add, i know i cant take these test as a diagnoses, i know i have one of these, but i dont know where to go. Do i see a regular Dr. or some type of therapist, if i have to take drugs for it, are they expensive, are therapist or someone who deals with these problems expensive, what kind of testing do they do, can it get worse over a few years,i use to be alright in math and reading, now it really hard to focus, im only 19, and i live in salt lake city, anyone know where to go,Answers: My son and I both have ADHD. For my son to be checked for ADHD I had to take him to a therapist and then she got him in to a shrink to prescribe the meds. For me I just went to the family Dr. The testing they do is real simple, for example they will mabye have you read a little bit of a story and then ask you to tell them what you remember from what you just read, or they may show a shopping list give you a few seconds to remember as many thing as possible, and then you either tell the dr. what the items were or write them down on paper. My son and I are both on adderall and when I had to pay cash for my meds it cost 40.00 dollars for 60 of the 20mgs. If you have insurance they will most likely pay for meds and office visits, you may have to get a pre - authorization from the insurance company to pay for the meds first since you are over 18, but it usually don't take long . I had to get a pre authorization and it only took 24 hrs. Hope this helps
yeah..calm down. your only thinking that it may get worse. for some people it may i guess, Adult ADD is very common now a days.and it mostly gets miss treated for something else. when you hear about ADD or ADHA you automatically thing about kids having it. I had ADHD growing up and lemme tell you. it does slow down some but it hasnt completely gone away...i can more now but some days it takes strenght just to do that. I like to space out alot. try going to your local behavioral health clinic and usually they'll make payment plans if thats an issue for you.
Advice about sucide?
I have a friend who was put in lock up for fear she might harm herself. She is now home and being cared for. She has confided in me about what happen. Any advice on what to say or what to avoid?Answers: I have been through suicides and also counselled people who have had one, or an attempted suicide.
One biggie. Dont mince words - call a spade a spade.
She has confided in you because
1. She obviously trusts you
2. She wants to speak to someone.
While getting advice from cousellers can assist, generally they theorise. They often have not been through it.
Listen to her (you dont have to agree with her opinions) and show her you care.
Noone can tell you what to say because noone knows what she is saying - You have to play it by ear.
I wish you well with your friend
This is not good. Please try to comfort her and convince her she has so much to live for
People suicide because they are raped and beaten or have suffered traumas when they were younger
What exactly is she upset about? Death is a very drastic measure. And I don't think anything is worth dying for, unless she really is mentally crippled over a trauma.
I am depressed. any advice??
I have no friends and its not like i don't try to get "out there" or get involved in school activities, it just never works out, people never talk to me, everyone is so snotty at my school, and im so depressed because i have no life, its sad, i hate life...Answers: omg it was the same way for me at my school last year. just hang in there and hopefully everything will work out. just really make an effort and talk to new people. get involved in something you like and make friends there. whether its sports, a club, something outside of school or church just dont worry and try to be confident. =] love ya!
You didn't give your age. Many teenagers go through
this period in their lives. So many pretend nothing is wrong.
Talk to your parent, if you can't talk to them, your school
counselor will recommend someone or activities.
Talk sincerely with your doctor and don't hold anything back.
Let it all hang out. Cry if you want too, doctors deal with
your problems everyday.
Don't hate life, it's too precious, think of the future and all the
possibilites you'll have. Join a book club, or service community work. There are so many things that can keep
you occupied at this time in your life.
Just don't give up on yourself.
Good Luck
I know its hard for me to just say this but you need to find a good reliable friend. Reliable meaning even if you say something "stupid" then he or she will still hang out with you because you are yourself.
It is not the end of the world a lot of people are in your spot right now.
talk to me i iwll be ur friend dogmicjoe@yah00.com
